On April 29th from 10 am to 3 pm Take Charge Tour: Best Practices in Energy and Water, an open house featuring a collection of homes and businesses, is coming to the Nevada City area. The tour showcases cutting edge systems and innovative design tailored to meet foothill community needs while addressing the high utility and resource burden of buildings.
Their strategies transform under-performing electricity hogs into models of high performance. They increase the efficiency of space heating and cooling systems, ventilation, insulation, water heating systems, lighting, irrigation, and much more. Each site has employed unique solutions that best fit their particular landscape and constraints.
The homes and businesses featured will provide community members with an invaluable opportunity to learn from those who have already undertaken improvement projects you may be considering. Home owners, project managers, designers, and energy professionals will be available to answer questions about their experience, financial elements of the project, energy and water savings, system capacities and functionality as well as time and site requirements.
Our tour locations were chosen for their diversity, with new and renovated construction, their comprehensive nature, and spectrum of applications. If you are just starting a family, running a business, or about to retire we have a project that offers an example that will speak to you.
While walking through these amazing projects don’t forget to get your BINGO card stamped, visit four tour stops and you will be entered in to win a $100 gift basket from BriarPatch Food Co-op filled with all kinds of tasty treats!
